The Healing Aspects of Art

A 1 hour presentation that explores the healing aspects of art. What the research tells us, the ways in which we are all wired for experiencing the healing benefits of art, and why starting a regular art practice, sooner than later, may be what the doctor should have offered.

Wayfinding through Cancer: Tools for Creating a Healing Art Journal

In this 2 hour workshop Deb Hemley will introduce her approach to starting and maintaining a healing art journal. Through mindfulness, art exercises and a series of prompts, participants will begin to uncover techniques for allowing visual stories to emerge. No art experience is required, just a desire and willingness to leave your inner critic at home. Participants are encouraged to use the workshop as a jumping off point for creating at least one page a day. More if they can.
